I am an Iowa native and graduated from a small high school, Martensdale-St. Marys. My graduating class was 22 students and I was lucky enough to have my father as a teacher, mentor and coach during school. After graduation I went to the University of Arkansas for a year before returing to Iowa to persue my teaching certificate. I graduated from Buena Vista University with a degree in Elementary Education and endorsements in Reading and History. I graduated Cum Laude from Buena Vista University.

This is my first year at FES and I am so excited! This is my second year in the district and I am very excited to start a new school year with your kiddos. We will be working on Reading, Science (Project Lead the Way!), Math (CGI) and Writing. I love history and love learning about the world and will encorporate that in our morning meetings.
Last year I worked at CFIS as a 4th grade literacy teacher and enjoyed working collaboratively with my colleagues and staff. Before moving to Arkansas I was a 2nd grade teacher in Las Vegas, NV. I worked in an Arts Integration School learning techniques for movement throughout our daily instruction.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Michael. We have been married for 4 years and recently bought a house next to the school. We have an 11 month old daughter, she has been a ray of sunshine in our house. We have two dogs who have been our babies for the past 5 years and are spoiled beyond belief.
I love to read and travel the world. I have been all over the United States and in many different countries. I have traveled to China, Sweden, France, England and Mexico. Next summer we hope to add Denmark to the list as we go over to visit a former foreign exhange student.
