Welcome to Camden Fairview Intermediate & Mills Class 12 !!
Hello! Welcome to the fourth grade!
I hope you are excited to begin fourth grade because this will be a fun, fabulous and fascinating year of learning! I am overjoyed to have your student in my classroom this year and look forward to sharing the school year together with him/her. As a teacher, I will endeavor to create an educational partnership with you and your student that will foster courage, determination, and a passion for knowledge. In addition to this, it is my solemn promise and commitment as an educator to provide your student with a nurturing and challenging educational environment that will ensure their academic success in fourth grade.
Throughout the year, we will strengthen and expand our skills as readers, writers, mathematical problem-solvers, and scientific explorers. We tackle new concepts and challenges in all academic areas. Your student’s math skills will be expanded, as we delve even deeper into place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, estimation, geometry and more! Science experiments involving physics, biology, geology, and engineering will light up their minds and imagination. They will be introduced to Computer Science and coding this year, and will write programs and scripts for robots, drones and small programs. These are just a few of the interesting and captivating experiences awaiting your child in the year ahead!
Attendance and appropriate behavior at school are crucial to the learning process, it is vital that your son/daughter attends school every day as a mature and responsible student. If an absence or tardy is unavoidable, your son/daughter will have the opportunity to complete their missed assignments, but nothing can recreate the classroom environment filled with student teacher interaction when a student is late or absent. During the first week of school, I will be working together with my students to develop a set of classroom rules, rewards and consequences. Working with my students to create class rules and rewards is one way to help students gain personal empowerment in school.
Through our strong partnership, I will ensure that our common goal to have your son/daughter reach his/her full potential will be realized. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank each one of you in advance for both your support and partnership for the upcoming school year.
On the first day of school in addition to the supplies needed; I need your student to bring the following: an enthusiasm for learning, a positive attitude, sense of humor, caring heart and willingness to work hard. With these qualities in place, we can accomplish fantastic feats in fourth grade! I can’t wait to get started!
